The Scent
Launched in 2011, the nose behind this masterpiece in a bottle is Chris Maurice. Lira is a potent citrus amber fragrance for those who want to make a mark on the world with their presence and sensual aura suffusing professionalism and elegance.
The Journey
Lira is a truly captivating fragrance with an aroma crafted to envelop the senses. It has been blended for unparalleled sophistication and features top notes of bright bergamot, sweet blood orange, calming lavender, and subtle licorice.
Further exploration reveals nuances of jasmine along with spicy cinnamon, and hints of warm vanilla and caramel ‑ all rounded off nicely by musk tones that linger on the skin long after application. Lira provides a unique experience with its blend of invigorating citruses, balanced by decadent caramel.
Sweet licorice complements the rich spices present in this concoction while creamy ylang‑ylang undertones and jasmine notes bring out a delightful aroma that keeps the scent from being too cloying.
The perfect harmony of caramel and vanilla creates a sweet scent, light yet deliciously indulgent while the subtle presence of musk perfectly rounds out this beautiful scent. Its sophisticated list of notes ensures that this fragrance remains airy on your skin while still giving off an immense aroma.
The Review
One of the things Matt and I enjoy the most about fragrances is how we can both share this scent journey together. We also quite literally share all of our fragrances.
I'm not one to shy away from masculine scents and Matt isn't one to when it comes to feminine scents either. We also find it really interesting how each scent smells different on us.
Lira on me is a moist vanilla cake with caramel filling, freshly sliced, sweet blood oranges on top, and a drizzle of cinnamon. The citrus notes linger throughout the scent's life but it is predominantly a sweet, spicy concoction.
On Matt, however, it smells like a dry yet airy vanilla sponge cake with lemon sauce drizzled on top—slightly sweet and zesty at the same time. There are hints of caramel and cinnamon but they're not as pronounced.
